Red and Yellow Twig Dogwoods are spectacular in fall and winter in the garden! Their bright, colorful stems add an interesting texture and make an artistic addition to a landscape. They are easy to grow and thrive in full sun. They also make excellent cuttings for holiday arrangements.

How/ Where to Plant:
Pick one color, either red or yellow, and plant in a grouping of 3 or more
Or, pick one and tuck it into a garden landscape to be a focal point during the cold months
Think of the backdrop behind these plants. If you have a brown wooden fence directly behind, for example, you might need the yellow variety to show up the best against that backdrop
Choose a sunny location (6+ hours of sunlight), as the stems will be brightest with full sun
Plant in well-draining, fertile soil
Red and Yellow Twig Dogwood shrubs are part of the Dogwood family, but do not resemble the beloved tree. They do have blooms in spring, but they are wispy and small (see above photo). These shrubs' true beauty is revealed when their stems lose their leaves in fall and winter; do not expect them to be showstoppers in spring and summer. We currently have several varieties available!
